Union Minister of State SP Singh Baghel engaged in discussions covering sports, politics, and examination-related issues at the ‘Khelo Chandigarh Games’ closing ceremony. Baghel expressed gratitude to the Chandigarh Sports Cell and the numerous enthusiastic child participants. He highlighted the social impact of sports, the dynamics of opposition coalitions, and the government’s stance on examination malpractices.
Sports, according to Baghel, holds transformative power, historically breaking societal barriers like untouchability. He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for prioritizing sports through initiatives like Khelo India. Baghel emphasized the evolving narrative where sports dedication can lead to national recognition and societal benefits, including reduced crime rates and drug abuse.
Regarding political strategies, Baghel likened the INDIA alliance to historical rival coalitions against popular leaders. He viewed it as a temporary union formed to counter Prime Minister Modi’s electoral dominance. Baghel emphasized that such alliances typically dissolve post-elections.
In response to the recent attack on Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee, Baghel condemned political violence, advocating for a civil and democratic approach. He commended the swift administrative actions taken by the state’s Chief Minister to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Addressing concerns over national examinations and paper leaks, Baghel assured the public of the government’s commitment to conducting exams transparently and fairly. He emphasized the importance of upholding student confidence and vowed strict actions against any malpractice perpetrators.
