After facing backlash for controversial comments about PM Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh Congress chief Ajay Rai alleged that a viral video against him is AI-generated. The video shows Rai making inappropriate remarks while interacting with a group of people. An FIR has been lodged against Rai, along with outgoing secretary Brijraj and 30 others, for objectionable comments on the PM captured on camera.
Rai defended himself, emphasizing the sensitivity of the Mahoba rape case where a Dalit girl was assaulted for 16 days. He urged for justice for the victim and dismissed the AI-generated videos as attempts to divert attention. The Mahoba incident involved a 25-year-old who was kidnapped, drugged, and gang-raped for over two weeks before being rescued by the police in Prayagraj.
The BJP criticized Rai’s comments, labeling Congress as a purveyor of hate and condemning Rai’s statements against the PM. In response, Rai highlighted Congress’s efforts in supporting victims of injustice, citing Rahul Gandhi’s recent visit to Raebareli in scorching temperatures. Expressing optimism for the 2027 Assembly elections, Rai affirmed the party’s commitment to strengthening its organizational presence across all constituencies.
