The United States has reportedly agreed to temporarily waive Iran’s oil sanctions while negotiations are ongoing, as per Iranian media sources. Iran is adamant about the complete removal of all sanctions as part of the US commitments. The US has proposed a waiver of OFAC sanctions until a final agreement is reached, according to reports.
Iran has put forward a new 14-point text to the US, following a recent response from the US to Iran’s previous 14-point text. The focus of Iran’s latest text is on negotiations to end the conflict and confidence-building measures by the American side, as reported by Tasnim news agency.
In response to US President Donald Trump’s suggestion of a 20-year suspension of Iran’s enrichment activities, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei emphasized that Iran’s right to uranium enrichment is non-negotiable under the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). Baqaei stated that Iran will uphold its principled positions firmly throughout the negotiation process.
Baqaei affirmed Iran’s readiness for any scenario and its commitment to defending itself vigorously against any provocative actions. He mentioned that the Iranian Armed Forces have surprises in store and highlighted that while Washington uses economic pressure tactics, Iran remains resolute in pursuing its people’s rights.
