US Ambassador to India, Sergio Gor, met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah to discuss enhancing collaboration in combating terrorism and protecting both nations from narcotics and illicit drugs. Gor expressed satisfaction with the meeting, highlighting the focus on securing borders and bringing criminals to justice in both countries.

The meeting followed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s discussion with US President Donald Trump at the G7 Summit in France, where they assessed progress in trade, energy, defense, technology, and people-to-people relations. Modi emphasized India’s gratitude for efforts to restore peace in West Asia and stressed the importance of keeping the Strait of Hormuz open for the global economy.

During his recent visit to India, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio emphasized the strategic alignment between India and the US on critical global issues such as supply chains, critical minerals, and terrorism. Rubio praised India as a vital strategic partner for the US and highlighted the shared commitment to public scrutiny and accountability as democracies.

Rubio underscored the impact of global terrorism on both nations and emphasized the strong counter-terrorism cooperation between India and the US. He acknowledged the challenges faced by both countries due to global terrorist networks and emphasized the need for continued collaboration in combating terrorism.
