US Ambassador to India, Sergio Gor, emphasized the robust partnership between India and the United States, citing their “limitless potential.” The Trump administration is focused on enhancing collaboration in technology, defense, investment, and emerging sectors, building on the close rapport between President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Reflecting on his initial six months in India, Gor praised the country’s diversity, economic vibrancy, and deepening ties with the US, expressing optimism about future relations. He noted India’s strength in diversity, highlighting the unique cultural and linguistic variations across different regions.
Gor underscored the extensive cooperation between the two nations across various sectors, including pharmaceuticals, IT, and defense. He mentioned significant investments from companies like Amazon, Microsoft, and Google in India, as well as growing Indian investments in the US.
As part of his role, Gor prioritized attracting investments to the US, with the Embassy in India leading in securing over $20 billion in new investments. He emphasized the immense potential for further collaboration between the two countries.
The US Ambassador commended the productive partnership between President Trump and PM Modi, noting their shared hands-on and results-oriented approach. Gor outlined his future priorities, including finalizing a trade agreement, strengthening defense ties, and advancing initiatives like Pax Silica.
India and the United States have expanded their strategic alliance over the years, encompassing areas beyond defense to include technology, clean energy, education, and investment. This relationship has evolved into a crucial partnership in the Indo-Pacific region.
