The US Central Command initiated “Operation Epic Fury,” described as the most significant regional deployment of American military might in years. The operation, directed by the US President, began in the early hours of Saturday with strikes on targets deemed immediate threats by dismantling the Iranian regime’s security apparatus.
Targets of the operation included Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps facilities, Iranian air defense capabilities, missile and drone launch sites, and military airfields. Adm. Brad Cooper, CENTCOM’s commander, praised the bold action taken, with US and partner forces utilizing precision munitions from various platforms, including employing low-cost one-way attack drones for the first time in combat.
Following the initial strikes, CENTCOM successfully repelled numerous Iranian missile and drone attacks, with no reported US casualties or combat-related injuries. Damage to US installations was minimal, allowing operations to continue unhindered. Operation Epic Fury signifies a significant concentration of American military power in the region, with ongoing strikes as of early Saturday.
