US lawmakers emphasized the need for a united global effort to combat terrorism, highlighting its evolving threat across regions. They stressed the importance of coordinated action involving countries like India and the United States. Congressman Brad Sherman pointed out the complexity of dealing with terrorism-linked actors, emphasizing the necessity of engaging with adversaries for peace.

Sherman also highlighted the significance of dialogue outcomes in diplomacy, cautioning against compromising security. He raised concerns about regional risks, particularly mentioning the proximity of India to nuclear-armed Pakistan and the potential threat of a nuclear-armed Iran. Lawmakers underscored the role of states and networks enabling terrorism, calling for stronger international measures to dismantle safe havens.

Congressman Bill Huizenga emphasized the need to exert pressure on countries associated with terrorism, advocating for diplomatic and economic actions. Congressman Dave Taylor echoed this sentiment, urging an end to state-sponsored terrorism and greater alignment among allies to address the threat effectively. Lawmakers described terrorism as a direct assault on civilians, emphasizing the destruction of human lives for political agendas.

They called for a comprehensive approach, including cracking down on terrorist financing and combating ideological extremism. Congressman Rich McCormick characterized terrorism as an intolerant, fundamentalist movement, stressing the importance of democratic nations uniting against this common enemy. Congressman Ro Khanna highlighted the global nature of terrorism, emphasizing the need for enhanced intelligence-sharing and defense cooperation to counter its spread.

Congressman Jonathan Jackson warned of the destabilizing impact of rising violence across regions, urging de-escalation efforts and accountability measures. India’s Ambassador to the United States, Vinay Mohan Kwatra, emphasized the collective need to counter terrorism, highlighting the imperative of countries acting together to defeat this threat. Lawmakers across party lines agreed on the necessity of sustained cooperation between democracies, particularly India and the United States, to combat terrorism effectively.
