Both leaders agreed to strengthen trade and defense cooperation and enhance collaboration on critical technologies. Rubio appreciated India’s role in hosting the upcoming Quad Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and expressed eagerness to promote a free and open Indo-Pacific region. PM Modi welcomed Rubio, stating that both countries will continue working together for global welfare.
During the meeting, Rubio discussed deepening US-India cooperation across various sectors with Ambassador Sergio Gor. They focused on security, trade, and critical technologies to strengthen both nations. Rubio’s visit to India is significant, especially regarding energy discussions and meetings with Quad nations’ ministers.
