Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath showcased the state’s progress from a “bottleneck to breakthrough” region, emphasizing the impact of significant projects and focused governance on its rapid development. He praised the Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation (PRAGATI) platform as a prime example of the efficient work culture in ‘New India’. This initiative, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s administrative model, has facilitated seamless coordination among states for large-scale infrastructure projects.
PRAGATI has played a pivotal role in expediting approvals, eliminating inter-agency obstacles, and fostering a collaborative approach, leading to tangible outcomes in Uttar Pradesh’s infrastructure sector. The state has emerged as a key driver of infrastructure growth in the country through PRAGATI, with over Rs 86 lakh crore worth of projects fast-tracked at the national level. CM Yogi highlighted the successful initiation of various projects in the state, including expressways, railways, metros, air connectivity, rapid rail systems, and ropeway ventures.
Under PRAGATI, Uttar Pradesh boasts a substantial infrastructure portfolio comprising 330 projects valued at Rs 10.48 lakh crore, covering diverse sectors like transportation, energy, urban development, health, and industrial progress. Notably, 39% of these projects, amounting to Rs 2.37 lakh crore, have already been completed, while the remaining 61% are progressing as per schedule. The CM disclosed that 65 major projects worth Rs 4.19 lakh crore are part of PRAGATI in the state, with 26 projects already finished and 39 others at various stages of development.
CM Yogi commended the tech-driven PRAGATI portal for its effective coordination across departments like Revenue, Pollution Control Board, Forest, Urban Development, and Panchayati Raj, ensuring timely solutions. This integrated approach has significantly accelerated infrastructure projects such as highways, railways, power, and telecommunications, setting a benchmark for good governance. He emphasized that PRAGATI has fostered a collaborative environment between central and state authorities, focusing on solutions and timely project completion, a departure from the past trend of delayed approvals and unfinished ventures.
