Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, emphasized that public roads should not be used for offering namaz to ensure smooth traffic flow and avoid inconveniencing the public. He suggested conducting religious gatherings in an organized manner at designated locations or in shifts to prevent overcrowding and disruptions. Adressing concerns, CM Yogi clarified that offering namaz on roads is not a common practice in Uttar Pradesh and urged people to verify this themselves.
The Chief Minister asserted that no individual has the right to block public roads for any activity that disrupts traffic movement. He emphasized that roads are essential for transportation and should not be obstructed. CM Yogi proposed organizing religious events in multiple shifts if the number of attendees exceeds the available space, rather than spilling onto public roads.
Yogi Adityanath highlighted the importance of maintaining law and order in public spaces and ensuring that activities do not inconvenience others. He stressed that while namaz will not be prohibited, it should not be performed on roads. The Chief Minister also mentioned using alternative methods if necessary to address any disagreements.
