Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Ministers criticized AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi for his remarks on the Ram Temple embezzlement case, accusing him of playing politics of appeasement. Owaisi had commented that if a Muslim was part of the Ram Mandir trust, the government would have taken severe actions against him.
In response, Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar clarified that only criminals involved in terrorism have been targeted in police encounters in the state. He emphasized that innocent individuals have not been harmed in such actions. Minister Sanjay Nishad questioned the relevance of religion in the matter and urged against stirring Hindu-Muslim tensions.
Minister Narendra Kashyap accused Owaisi of focusing on appeasement politics rather than the state’s development. He questioned Owaisi’s selective approach towards investigations and highlighted the cooperation of Hindus in legal processes. Jagadguru Paramhans Acharya dismissed Owaisi’s statement as baseless, emphasizing the religious differences regarding idol worship.
Defending Owaisi, Maulana Sajid Rashidi claimed that individuals betraying public trust are being shielded while the real culprits remain protected. He criticized the handling of the case and alleged that the main accused received unwarranted support from the Hindu community.
