Close on the heels of some BJP leaders suggesting the separation of Jammu from the Kashmir Valley, Peoples Conference President and Valley-based MLA Sajad Gani Lone expressed his desire for this separation. Lone emphasized that he prays for the separation to occur, viewing it as true liberation despite potential opposition from certain quarters.
Questioning the rationale behind Kashmir-Jammu unity, Sajad Lone called for a ‘cordial split’ in a statement. He initiated a political and moral debate on the region’s administrative structure, advocating a thorough reassessment of the Kashmir-Jammu relationship and openly supporting the possibility of their separation.
Lone’s emotional intensity was evident as he addressed recent remarks by National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah while highlighting his respect for the veteran leader. He challenged the notion of continued unity between Jammu and Kashmir, questioning who truly bears the burden of this unity and emphasizing the challenges faced by ordinary people and unemployed youth in the region.
