Veteran BJP leader and former Karnataka Minister S.V. Ramachandra Gowda, aged 88, passed away in Bengaluru after battling age-related ailments. Senior BJP figures, including former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa and Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, paid tribute to him, highlighting his significant contributions to the party and Karnataka politics.
Ramachandra Gowda, a former Karnataka Medical Education Minister and Member of the Karnataka Legislative Council, breathed his last at a private hospital in Chandra Layout at 6:20 a.m. His final rites are scheduled to take place at his property in Kamakshipalya, where family, political leaders, party members, and supporters are expected to pay their respects.
Former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa expressed deep sorrow over Gowda’s passing, emphasizing their long-standing association and shared political journey. Union Minister Pralhad Joshi also mourned Gowda’s demise, recognizing his pivotal role in the BJP’s growth in Karnataka. BJP Karnataka President B.Y. Vijayendra also condoled the loss, highlighting Gowda’s stature as a senior leader in the party.
