Atharva Taide’s century and strong bowling by Yash Thakur and Nachiket Bhute led Vidarbha to a 38-run victory over Saurashtra in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 final at Bengaluru’s BCCI Centre of Excellence Ground 1. Despite Saurashtra’s efforts, including Prerak Mankad’s 88 and Chirag Jani’s 64, they fell short of Vidarbha’s target of 318 runs.
Saurashtra faced early setbacks in their chase, losing key wickets including skipper Harvik Desai and Vishvaraj Jadeja. Despite a partnership between Mankad and Jani, Vidarbha’s bowlers restricted Saurashtra’s progress.
Earlier, Atharva Taide’s brilliant century off 97 balls set the stage for Vidarbha’s imposing total. Taide’s partnership with Yash Rathod and his aggressive innings, comprising 12 fours and two sixes, propelled Vidarbha to a commanding position.
Vidarbha’s victory was sealed by Taide’s exceptional performance with the bat and Thakur-Bhute’s effective bowling, securing the prestigious Vijay Hazare Trophy for the team.
