Actor-turned-politician Vijay will launch his election campaign from the Perambur constituency in North Chennai on Wednesday, gearing up for the upcoming voting on April 23. The nomination process starts on March 30, with the results set to be announced on May 4.
As the election timeline takes shape, major political parties in Tamil Nadu are ramping up their activities. The DMK, AIADMK, and NDA are focusing on alliance talks, seat-sharing, and candidate finalization.
Preparations are in full swing with discussions among alliance partners ongoing, alongside manifesto drafting and grassroots mobilization strategies being worked on.
The upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly election is expected to witness a four-cornered contest, with the DMK, AIADMK, NTK, and Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam likely to contest independently.
While candidates for all 234 Assembly constituencies are yet to be officially announced, Vijay’s potential debut from Perambur has already garnered significant attention. His entry into politics is anticipated to impact the electoral dynamics, especially in urban areas.
In readiness for his campaign, Vijay has secured a bungalow in Kannadasan Nagar near Kodungaiyur as his campaign headquarters. A ‘puja’ ceremony will mark the formal launch of his election activities on Wednesday morning.
Following the ceremony, Vijay is set to start canvassing in Perambur on the same day, planning to engage with voters and seek support over the next two days as part of an extensive outreach program.
With campaigning gaining momentum, heightened political activities are expected in Tamil Nadu as parties aim to strengthen their positions ahead of polling day.
