Veteran Virat Kohli’s 81 runs and Devdutt Padikkal’s 55 runs guided Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) to a five-wicket win against Gujarat Titans in Match 34 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. Kohli, initially dropped by Washington Sundar, found his form while Padikkal impressed with aggressive batting.
Padikkal showcased his skills by hitting boundaries and a six off fast bowlers like Kagiso Rabada and Mohammed Siraj. Kohli, on the other hand, marked his 800th IPL four and 300th IPL six during his innings. Padikkal’s quick half-century off just 30 balls and Kohli’s 81 off 44 balls set the stage for RCB’s successful chase.
Sai Sudharsan’s brilliant century for Gujarat Titans set a competitive total of 205/3. Despite Sudharsan’s efforts, RCB’s aggressive response, led by Kohli and Padikkal, ensured their victory. Krunal Pandya’s late onslaught with 23 runs off 12 balls sealed the win for RCB in a high-scoring encounter.
