Filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj recently disclosed how he persuaded veteran actress Farida Jalal to use strong language in his upcoming film, O Romeo. During the trailer launch event, Vishal explained that he convinced Farida by emphasizing the importance of the language for the character. In the movie, Shahid Kapoor’s character, feared by all, is portrayed as powerless in front of his grandmother, played by Farida Jalal.
Applauding Farida Jalal’s powerful performance in O Romeo, Vishal praised her for delivering the lines with remarkable intensity, which later became viral. Despite the delays and challenges during the shoot, Vishal expressed gratitude to Farida for her contribution to the film. Reflecting on the strong women in his family, Vishal shared childhood memories of witnessing their dominance and strength, emphasizing his belief in women’s inherent resilience and composure.
Vishal Bhardwaj, without revealing much about the film, described O Romeo as a love story set against a backdrop of violence. Starring Shahid Kapoor and Tripti Dimri, the movie portrays an intense, unreciprocated love story. Vishal highlighted the film’s theme of strong emotions and hinted at a compelling narrative. O Romeo is scheduled for release on February 13.
