The weather in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) underwent a sudden change on Saturday evening as rains, thunderstorms, and strong winds swept through various areas, providing relief from the recent intense heat and humidity. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued a yellow alert for Saturday, forecasting pleasant weather in the NCR until June 4, with decreasing maximum temperatures. Expect intermittent thunder, light to moderate rainfall, and strong winds in the upcoming days.

Authorities have cautioned the public about heavy rain, thunderstorms, and winds up to 90 kmph, advising against exposure to open spaces, weak structures, or standing under trees during adverse weather conditions. Weather experts attribute the weather shift to a western disturbance and local weather activity, which are expected to keep temperatures below normal in the NCR for the next few days. Residents of Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, Faridabad, and surrounding areas can anticipate continued relief from the heat for the next four to five days.
