West Bengal and Manipur Secure Spots in U20 Men’s National Football Championship

West Bengal and Manipur advanced to the Swami Vivekananda U20 Men’s National Football Championship. West Bengal drew with Odisha, securing their spot after a 2-2 tie. Manipur defeated hosts Chhattisgarh, guaranteeing their quarter-final place.

The match between Odisha and West Bengal was intense, with goals from Shankha Shekhar Hembram and Barial Tudu for Odisha, and Sahil Kar and Tanbir Dey for West Bengal. West Bengal’s draw ensured their progression to the knockout stage.

Manipur dominated their match against Chhattisgarh with a 5-1 victory. Salam Swamichandra Meitei scored a hat-trick, Thounaojam Robertson Singh netted two goals, and Indrajit Roy scored for Chhattisgarh. Manipur finished the group stage with a perfect record of three wins.

In another match, Nagaland defeated Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu 8-1. However, both teams were already out of contention for the knockout stage.
