West Bengal BJP President and Rajya Sabha member Samik Bhattacharya announced on social media that the Tata Group is planning to make a comeback to the state with new investment proposals. He highlighted the past exit of Tata Motors’ Nano project from Singur in 2008 due to anti-land acquisition protests led by the Trinamool Congress.
Bhattacharya expressed confidence in the return of the Tata Group to West Bengal, emphasizing the importance of industrialization for the state’s progress. He stated that the BJP is committed to attracting investments and creating job opportunities by bringing back the Tata Group.
The BJP aims to restore West Bengal’s industrial prominence and stimulate economic growth by encouraging industries to invest in the state. Bhattacharya’s social media post emphasized the significance of reviving industries, creating employment opportunities, and fostering development in West Bengal.
Following the relocation of the Nano project to Sanand, Gujarat, in 2008, Ratan Tata, the then chairman of the Tata Group, expressed disappointment over the situation in West Bengal. He cited the adverse impact of industry exits on employment and economic growth, underlining the need for industrial resurgence in the state.
