West Indies have revealed their squad for the Men’s T20 World Cup, featuring Shai Hope as captain for the tournament commencing on February 7 in India and Sri Lanka. The team sees a significant overhaul from the one that played against Afghanistan in the UAE, with only Johnson Charles, Shimron Hetmyer, and Brandon King retained in the top order.
Despite a largely unchanged pace bowling unit, the inclusion of hard-hitting Quentin Sampson, who had a modest performance in recent T20Is but excelled in the 2025 Caribbean Premier League, adds depth to the squad. All-rounders like Roston Chase, Akeal Hosein, and Sherfane Rutherford make a comeback, alongside former captains Jason Holder and Rovman Powell.
The squad, which will also feature in the upcoming T20I series against South Africa, includes fast bowler Shamar Joseph, despite his absence in recent tours due to injuries. With a mix of experienced and new faces, the West Indies team aims to make an impact in the T20 World Cup, starting their campaign against Scotland on February 7.
Featuring players who participated in the 2024 home World Cup, the 15-man squad excludes Evin Lewis and Alzarri Joseph, with the team set to face Scotland, England, Nepal, and Italy in Group C matches. The West Indies will kick off their journey at Eden Gardens in Kolkata before taking on other opponents in the group stage.
