West Indies won the toss and decided to bowl first against Nepal in their Group C match at the Wankhede Stadium. The West Indies team, leading the table after victories over Scotland and England, is aiming for a spot in the Super 8s. On the other hand, Nepal is yet to secure any points following losses to England and Italy, making this match crucial for them.

Windies captain Shai Hope mentioned that the pitch had more moisture than expected, prompting them to utilize it fully. He emphasized the importance of maintaining intensity and focusing on their game plan. In terms of team changes, Matthew Forde replaced Shepherd due to a minor injury concern.

Nepal’s captain, Rohit Paudel, expressed the team’s intention to bowl first but acknowledged the challenge of batting. He highlighted the need to build partnerships and strengthen the lower middle order. Sompal Kami was included in the playing XI in place of Lalit Rajbanshi for his expected effectiveness on the pitch.
