Western Railway has decided not to impose a jumbo block on its suburban network on June 21, 2026, to facilitate smooth travel for NEET exam candidates. Suburban services will operate on a weekday schedule, while AC suburban services will follow the Sunday schedule. This adjustment aims to accommodate the significant student movement expected on the day of the examination.
The Chief Passenger Traffic Manager (CPTM) requested these changes to ensure minimal disruption for NEET candidates and their families. Jumbo blocks, typically conducted on Sundays for maintenance work, are being suspended to avoid inconveniencing the large number of students traveling to exam centers across Mumbai and neighboring areas.
The decision reflects Western Railway’s commitment to supporting national examinations by providing reliable transport services. This move underscores the importance of uninterrupted suburban services during critical national events like NEET, emphasizing the railway’s role in facilitating smooth conduct of major exams.
