A woman in Ranchi has been arrested for the alleged murder of her father-in-law, a renowned homeopathic doctor, by suffocating him with a pillow during a domestic dispute. The incident occurred in the Vidyanagar locality, causing shock and panic among residents.
The deceased, identified as Dr. K.P. Gupta, a respected homeopathic practitioner, had been bedridden due to paralysis and relied on family members for care. Police responded to a report of the elderly man’s suspicious death and took the victim’s daughter-in-law into custody for interrogation based on suspicious circumstances and conflicting statements.
The woman reportedly admitted to the crime during questioning, citing frequent arguments with her father-in-law over domestic issues. Allegedly, in a moment of anger, she pressed a pillow over his face, leading to his death due to prolonged suffocation. The community is in disbelief over the involvement of a family member in the tragic event.
Authorities have sent the body for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death at the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi. The accused woman remains in police custody for further questioning as the investigation continues into the murder case.
