NITI Aayog, along with IIM Ahmedabad, the Gates Foundation, and the Gujarat government, conducted a workshop to launch State and District reports on Sustainable Development Goal 5, focusing on gender equality initiatives. The event aimed to enhance monitoring systems for SDG 5 and empower women economically and socially.

The workshop emphasized the significance of data-driven policymaking and targeted interventions to promote gender equality at the district level. Discussions highlighted the need for improved data systems, gender-responsive budgeting, and community-led approaches to accelerate progress towards SDG 5.

Key officials stressed the importance of implementation, convergence, and tailored interventions to address local needs effectively. The workshop underscored the shift towards district-specific strategies for advancing gender equality, using data and evidence to drive decision-making.

Senior officials from states, Union Territories, central ministries, and international agencies participated in the workshop, emphasizing the role of data-driven actions at the district level.
