The World Trade Center Mumbai recently welcomed a high-level business delegation from the US, focusing on fostering collaboration with India in various sectors like aerospace, advanced manufacturing, telecom technology, green energy, and infrastructure development. The event aimed to enhance cooperation among MSMEs, startups, and exporters following the US-India trade deal announcement.
Dave Somers, County Executive of Snohomish County, Seattle Region, highlighted plans to establish a sustainable aviation fuel hub, inviting international participation. Emphasizing their expertise in high-value manufacturing, he expressed interest in partnering with India in aerospace, advanced manufacturing, telecom technology, green energy, and infrastructure sectors.
Sam Cho, Commissioner of the Port of Seattle, identified significant opportunities for expanding air cargo and passenger services with India, noting India as Seattle’s 13th-largest air cargo trade partner. He stressed the importance of strengthening trade, services, and connectivity, with a substantial number of passengers traveling between Seattle and India.
Dr. Vijay Kalantri, Chairman of World Trade Center Mumbai and President, emphasized the objectives of the recent India-US trade deal to elevate bilateral trade in goods and services to $500 billion by 2030. He urged for an increase in capital flows from the US to India beyond the current $50 billion mark, foreseeing enhanced market access for exporters and boosted investment flows.
The event, organized by World Trade Center Mumbai in collaboration with the All-India Association of Industries, the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, and Greater Seattle Partners, brought together more than 35 senior leaders from various industries such as business, real estate, technology, and aviation. With participation from over 1,000 industry representatives, including MSME entrepreneurs, the event featured structured B2B meetings.
