Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath criticized the Opposition, particularly Congress and the Samajwadi Party, for showing favoritism towards a specific community during their rule. He stressed the importance of establishing a secure and strong Bharat based on the principles of Sanatan Dharma. These remarks were made during the launch of 82 development projects in Barabanki, totaling over Rs 542 crore.

Adressing a public gathering, CM Yogi highlighted instances during the SP-Congress era where actions like constructing boundary walls around cemeteries and restricting Hindu festivals were considered symbols of secularism. He called for moving away from such practices and focusing on building a secure Bharat rooted in Sanatan Dharma.

Yogi Adityanath mentioned the historical significance of Barabanki, including landmarks like Lord Lodheshwar Mahadev, the Parijat tree, and hockey player K.D. Singh ‘Babu’, which were neglected post-independence. He emphasized that his government redirected funds from graveyard walls to construct a grand corridor for Lord Lodheshwar Mahadev Temple, enhancing facilities for devotees and promoting religious tourism.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the preservation efforts for the heritage associated with K.D. Singh ‘Babu’ and the Parijat tree. He underlined the importance of India’s heritage and Sanatan culture in shaping the nation’s identity, stating that a secure Sanatan foundation ensures the country’s safety. Yogi Adityanath accused the Congress and Samajwadi Party of appeasement politics, citing instances where public funds were allocated to graveyard walls instead of preserving religious and cultural sites like Ayodhya and Kashi Vishwanath Dham.
