In a significant development, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is set to inaugurate the E-bus service on Friday, aiming to enhance connectivity in Noida, Greater Noida, and Yamuna Authority regions. The launch will take place at Shilp Haat in Sector-33A, with preparations in full swing for the event. This initiative is geared towards modernizing the bus fleet and promoting eco-friendly and efficient public transportation in the National Capital Region (NCR).
The inauguration ceremony is expected to be attended by around 300 individuals, with the unveiling of ten electric buses at the Shilp Haat complex. These buses will soon commence operations on their designated routes from the bus depot located in Sector-90. Initially, each of the authorities – Noida, Greater Noida, and Yamuna – will operate 10 buses within their respective areas.
Authorities have meticulously planned the bus routes in Noida, Greater Noida, and Yamuna regions, ensuring efficient operations. The fare structure for the e-bus service ranges from a minimum of ₹20 to a maximum of ₹50, offering passengers an affordable travel option. The primary focus of this service is to enhance connectivity to the upcoming Noida International Airport at Jewar and various key locations in the surrounding areas.
To facilitate seamless travel, the e-buses will connect important locations such as Botanical Garden, Sector-62, Greater Noida West, Surajpur, and Pari Chowk. Additionally, routes will be established to connect rural and urban areas within the Yamuna Authority region. The plan includes the operation of 100 e-buses, with Noida receiving 50 buses and Greater Noida and Yamuna Authority areas each allocated 25 buses.
Furthermore, the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet has sanctioned an additional 100 e-buses, with plans to have around 200 electric buses operational by the end of the year. This move is expected to bolster the public transport system and promote sustainable transportation in the region.
