A young man, Vicky Soni, from Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, was fatally shot by unknown attackers while on his way to the Kedarnath pilgrimage. The incident occurred near Karso bridge in the Barhi police station area.
Vicky Soni, accompanied by his friend Abhishek Kumar Upadhyay, was traveling to Koderma railway station for their journey to Kedarnath when their car had a flat tire near Karso Bridge. As they were changing the tire, two unidentified individuals on a motorcycle suddenly shot Soni in the neck without any prior interaction, causing severe injuries.
Local residents, alerted by the gunshots, attempted to rush Soni to a hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries before reaching medical help. The police, led by station in-charge Vinod Kumar, are investigating the incident, examining all potential motives, including personal disputes and criminal rivalries.
Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the assailants, with raids being conducted and CCTV footage from the vicinity being scrutinized. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, and the police are actively pursuing leads to solve the case.
