YSR Congress Party leader Kurasala Kannababu criticized Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for allegedly using the Tirupati laddu issue to deflect attention from his government’s shortcomings. Kannababu highlighted the government’s failure to fulfill key promises despite being in power for 20 months, claiming that the laddu controversy is raised whenever criticism arises.
Speaking in Kakinada, Kannababu accused Naidu of politicizing the issue to target YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and tarnishing the sanctity of Tirumala. He referenced the Supreme Court-monitored CBI SIT report, which found no evidence of adulteration, and criticized the ruling coalition for misinformation campaigns.
Kannababu further alleged that rejected ghee tankers re-entered the system during the coalition government’s tenure, shifting blame to the YSRCP. He condemned claims of adulterated laddus being sent to Ayodhya and questioned the politicization of religious sentiments in the controversy.
Accusing Naidu of attacking Hindu beliefs, Kannababu claimed that the Chief Minister’s new allegations, including the use of “toilet cleaning chemicals,” aim to sustain the controversy. He contrasted the YSRCP’s record of protecting Hindu interests with the current coalition’s alleged neglect of temples and interference with opposition demands.
