YSR Congress Party MP Y. S. Avinash Reddy has urged the Centre to intervene urgently in the petrol, diesel, and LPG shortage crisis in Andhra Pradesh. Reddy highlighted the public distress caused by the inadequate supply of fuel and the high prices of LPG in the state. Despite national assurances of sufficient petrol and diesel, Andhra Pradesh is facing severe shortages, with many fuel stations closed and displaying ‘No stock’ signs.
The MP questioned the mismatch between supply and demand in Andhra Pradesh, emphasizing the impact on various sectors like agriculture, aquaculture, and transportation. Reddy criticized the state government for allegedly colluding with hoarders, worsening the crisis. He also raised concerns about unethical practices like hoarding and black marketing of fuel and LPG cylinders exacerbating the situation.
In response to the crisis, the YSR Congress Party staged protests across the state against the fuel shortage. Party leader Devineni Avinash led demonstrations in Vijayawada, highlighting the government’s failure to address the issue. Avinash criticized the Chandrababu government’s incompetence in ensuring the availability of petrol and diesel to the public.
