YSR Congress Party President, Jagan Mohan Reddy, and state Congress chief, Y.S. Sharmila, honored their late father, former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, on his 77th birth anniversary in Kadapa. Jagan Mohan Reddy, along with family members, laid a wreath at YSR Ghat in Idupulapaya, YSR Kadapa district, and attended special prayers.
Remembering YSR as a visionary leader, Jagan Mohan Reddy highlighted his contributions to welfare, development, and public service. YSRCP leaders praised his dedication to the poor, farmers, healthcare, education, and irrigation sectors. They emphasized YSR’s enduring legacy of inclusive development and people-centric governance.
Supporters, party workers, and admirers gathered at YSR Ghat to pay floral tributes and engage in commemorative prayers. The event underscored YSR’s impact on inclusive development, social justice, and governance ideals. Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed his sentiments with a heartfelt message and photos at YSR’s grave.
YSR’s daughter, Sharmila, also paid respects at the memorial, acknowledging her father’s lasting influence. Sharmila praised YSR’s welfare schemes like Arogyasri, fee reimbursement, free electricity, and Jalayagnam, which benefited countless households. She thanked the people for their continued support and remembrance of YSR’s legacy.
Sharmila and Jagan Mohan Reddy have been separately attending YSR’s birth and death anniversary events at YSR Ghat, maintaining a tradition despite their differences since 2019.
