Tamil Nadu Government to Provide Pongal Gift Hampers and Cash to Ration Card Holders

Chennai, Jan 8 (IANS) As part of the celebrations for Pongal, Tamil Nadu’s harvest festival, the state government is launching on Thursday an expansive welfare initiative providing a Pongal gift hamper along with Rs 3,000 in cash to more than 2.22 crore ration card holders, including eligible Sri Lankan Tamil families residing in the state.
