Ingredients

To prepare Makhana Set Dosa, you will need the following ingredients:

  • 1 cup makhana (fox nuts)
  • 1 cup suji (semolina)
  • 1/2 cup poha (flattened rice)
  • 1/4 cup curd
  • Water as needed
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp fruit salt (for fluffiness)
  • Ghee (for cooking)
  • Red chilli powder (for flavor)
  • Coriander leaves (for garnishing)

Instructions: How to Make Makhana Set Dosa

Step 1: Prepare the Batter

  1. Dry roast makhana in a pan for 2-3 minutes until crispy. Let it cool and grind into a fine powder.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine makhana powder, suji, and poha.
  3. Add curd and mix well, adding water gradually to form a smooth batter.
  4. Add salt to taste and let it rest for 15-20 minutes.

Step 2: Cooking the Dosa

  1. Before making dosas, add 1 tbsp fruit salt to the batter and mix gently.
  2. Heat a non-stick pan or dosa tawa and grease it with ghee.
  3. Pour a ladleful of batter and spread it slightly (not too thin).
  4. Cover with a lid and cook on low flame for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Flip and cook the other side for 1-2 minutes.

Step 3: Garnishing and Serving

  1. Sprinkle some red chilli powder for an extra kick.
  2. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
  3. Serve hot with coconut chutney, tomato chutney, or mint chutney.
