A 21-year-old woman took her life by hanging herself in Adarsh Nagar, north Delhi, following her participation in the NEET UG exam on May 3. The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding Anshika Pandey’s death.
Anshika Pandey’s family mentioned that she was stressed due to the cancellation of the NEET exam and the pressure of preparing for her fourth attempt. Despite not leaving a suicide note, her family is under scrutiny for quickly conducting her last rites without informing the authorities.
The cremation ground staff raised concerns about the hurried nature of the funeral rites, prompting the police to intervene and take possession of the body for post-mortem examination. Anshika’s maternal uncle highlighted that she had performed well in her exam, which was later rescheduled by the NTA.
