Majeed Khan, aged 91, who served as the Chancellor of Noorul Islam University and oversaw around 20 educational and healthcare institutions affiliated with Noorul Islam, has passed away in Thiruvananthapuram. Born to Alisan Muhammed and Salmabeevi in Neyyattinkara, Khan’s journey from humble beginnings led him to become a prominent figure in the education and healthcare sectors of Kerala and Tamil Nadu. His notable contributions include establishing Kerala’s first private industrial training institute, Amaravila N.I. ITI, which significantly impacted skill development and employment opportunities for the youth.
Khan’s visionary initiatives further expanded into engineering, arts, science, professional education, and healthcare domains, with the establishment of various institutions. Despite his influential position, he was admired for his down-to-earth nature and personal involvement in the daily operations of his institutions, interacting with students, staff, and patients regularly.
