Bollywood star Aamir Khan’s iconic film ‘Lagaan’ is gearing up to mark its 25th anniversary with a special screening at BFI IMAX during the London Indian Film Festival on July 12, 2026. The festival lineup includes various events like ‘Goodness Gracious Me’ Reunion and UK premieres of indie features and shorts across five cities.

Aamir Khan will be featured in a special session at the Closing Gala on July 16 at BFI Southbank, where he will discuss the making of ‘Lagaan’ and his journey from a child actor to a globally acclaimed superstar. Khan expressed his joy at the enduring love and connection ‘Lagaan’ has with audiences worldwide even after 25 years.

The festival will kick off with the screening of ’52 Blue’, a coming-of-age tale directed by Ali El Arabi and starring Adil Hussain and Neha Dhupia. Cary Rajinder Sawhney, the CEO and Programming Director, highlighted the festival’s expansion to multiple UK cities and the inclusion of Indian AI and filmmaking in this year’s program.
