Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee has broken his silence regarding the Enforcement Directorate’s raids on India Political Action Committee’s office and co-founder’s residence in Kolkata. This comes after Trinamool Congress MPs were detained by Delhi Police during a protest. Banerjee criticized the BJP and the government for allegedly using investigative agencies to influence elections.
In a social media post, Abhishek Banerjee accused the BJP and the Centre of misusing agencies to manipulate elections. He condemned the treatment of protesters and contrasted it with the leniency towards criminals. Banerjee vowed to resist such actions in Bengal and promised to fight against such forces.
While the ED raids were ongoing, Abhishek Banerjee remained silent on the matter, even during a public event in Malda district. He is expected to address a rally in Nadia district, raising anticipation for his stance on the issue. Meanwhile, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has not yet commented on the detention of Trinamool Congress MPs by Delhi Police.
