Actor Silambarasan, popularly known as Simbu, has restarted filming for director Vetrimaran’s highly anticipated action movie ‘Arasan’. Simbu shared a picture on his Instagram Stories from the film set, showing him in discussion with director Vetrimaran. Sources close to the actor confirmed that shooting for ‘Arasan’ recommenced on Friday after a temporary halt.
The film’s shooting had paused due to a disagreement between producer Ishari K Ganesh and Simbu regarding an advance payment for a project that didn’t materialize. The current shooting schedule for ‘Arasan’ is underway in Chennai and is expected to be extensive. Actors Yogi Babu and Priyanka Arul Mohan are also set to join the filming during this period.
Notably, actors Vikranth and child artiste Kamalesh, known for his role in ‘Tourist Family’, have been cast for the movie and will be part of the ongoing schedule. The first schedule of the film, held in Kovilpatti, concluded on December 21 last year, building high anticipation for various reasons.
The collaboration between Simbu and director Vetri Maran, along with the production by renowned producer Kalaipuli S Thanu, has raised excitement among fans. Additionally, the recent announcement of actor Vijay Sethupathi’s involvement in the project has further heightened expectations. A teaser released earlier featured director Nelson in a cameo appearance, setting a mysterious tone for the film.
The promotional material hints at a gripping narrative set in the backdrop of ‘Vada Chennai’, promising an intriguing and intense storyline. Titled ‘Arasan’, the movie will also star Samuthirakani, Andrea Jeremiah, and Kishore in pivotal roles, with music composed by Anirudh.
