The AIADMK, after unveiling its manifesto for the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections on April 23, promptly revealed its initial list of 23 candidates. This move, made ahead of finalizing seat-sharing agreements within the NDA, demonstrates the party’s determination to maintain control over its strongholds. Leading the candidate list is AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami, who will contest from Edappadi in Salem district, a crucial element of the party’s election strategy.

Among the 23 candidates, 21 are former ministers, and 16 are current MLAs, indicating a strategic focus on utilizing administrative expertise and established voter connections.
