Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav criticized Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for opposing ‘namaz’ on public roads. Yadav questioned whether the government would also stop them from holding press conferences on the road. He emphasized the importance of respecting everyone’s religion and rights as per the country’s Constitution and democracy.
Yadav, while attending a ‘bhandara’ in Lucknow’s Hazratganj area, distributed ‘prasad’ during the ‘Jyeshtha’ month celebrations. He highlighted the slow traffic in Lucknow, taking a dig at the Yogi Adityanath-led government. The SP Chief accused the BJP of diverting attention from real issues and harming small traders for their benefit.
Responding to concerns about law and order in Uttar Pradesh, Yadav criticized the government’s focus on police encounters. He pointed out the prevalence of crimes against women in Lucknow and urged the disclosure of crime statistics, especially related to Dalits and women. Additionally, Yadav warned about the ripple effects of fuel price hikes on daily commodities.
Yadav also cautioned the public about the potential rise in gas cylinder costs due to increased petrol and diesel prices. He mocked the BJP-led Centre’s policies, suggesting a lack of effective measures. The SP Chief’s remarks came after state-run oil companies raised fuel prices for the second time in a week.
