A 108 ambulance team performed an emergency home delivery for a pregnant woman in a remote village of Gujarat’s Jamnagar district. Due to heavy rainfall blocking roads, the mother and newborn were carried around 500 meters through mud to reach the waiting ambulance before being taken to the hospital.
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Hasmukh Sagathiya and Pilot Kamlesh Kantariya responded promptly to the emergency call in the Wadi area of Kotda Bavisi village. Despite the ambulance being unable to reach the woman’s house due to muddy roads, the team decided to conduct the delivery at her home.
The successful delivery was made possible with the assistance of local residents who helped carry the mother and newborn to the ambulance. They were then transferred to the Jamjodhpur Sub-District Hospital for further medical care and observation.
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel praised the emergency ambulance service for its crucial role in ensuring the safe delivery in challenging weather conditions. He commended the efforts of the ambulance personnel and extended his best wishes to the mother, baby, and their family.
