Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed strong support for the Mising community and its cultural legacy, emphasizing their significance for Assam and the nation. He announced special recruitment efforts to enable Mising youth to join the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). Shah, addressing a large audience at the Mising Youth Festival in Assam’s Dhemaji district, praised the community’s culture and traditions.
Shah, commencing his speech with “Bharat Mata ki Jai,” conveyed his admiration for the Mising community, acknowledging the importance of their celebrations. He described the Mising culture as integral to Assam’s identity, reflecting the essence of both the state and the country. The Home Minister also recognized the Mising people’s contributions to India’s freedom struggle and emphasized their enduring role in nation-building efforts.
Highlighting the Mising community’s deep connection with nature, Shah underscored the values of environmental harmony and coexistence embodied in their festivals. He outlined plans to empower Mising youth by facilitating their involvement in security forces, particularly the CRPF. Shah assured that specific measures would be implemented to enable Mising youth to serve the nation through the CRPF.
Referring to ongoing development projects in Assam, Shah mentioned his participation in the bhumi pujan for the second legislative assembly building in Dibrugarh. He also highlighted the upcoming semiconductor manufacturing plant in Jagiroad, expected to create job opportunities for approximately 27,000 young individuals. The Home Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to inclusive development while preserving the cultural heritage of indigenous communities in the Northeast.
