The Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) has issued a strict advisory to its registered cricketers, cautioning them against participating in unauthorized tournaments or private matches without prior approval. Players were reminded that engaging in unapproved events could lead to disciplinary measures. The ACA emphasized the importance of complying with the association’s rules to maintain their professional reputation.

This advisory comes as preparations accelerate for the fifth edition of the Andhra Premier League (APL). The ACA aims to enhance its cricket framework through the upcoming league, which will be held in three different venues for the first time this year. The Chairman of APL Governing Council, Sujay Krishna Rangarao, highlighted that the league’s expansion to multiple venues signifies the ACA’s commitment to strengthening cricket in Andhra Pradesh.

Addressing a press conference at the YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Rangarao expressed that the league’s structure aims to foster the growth of cricket and nurture young talent in the region. The tournament schedule includes matches in Visakhapatnam from June 9 to June 14, Kadapa from June 17 to June 21, and Mangalagiri from June 24 to June 30. This shift to multiple venues marks a significant change from previous editions, which were held at a single location.

The ACA’s long-term vision involves expanding cricket to more grounds in the coming years to strengthen Andhra cricket. The official launch of APL 2026 will feature an opening ceremony at 6 p.m., with Union Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu presiding over the event.
