Apple’s iPhone 17 series was the top-selling smartphone lineup in India in the second quarter of 2026, representing 44% of total iPhone shipments, as per CyberMedia Research (CMR). Following closely, the iPhone 16 series held a 40% share of Apple’s shipments during the same period. The iPhone 17e and iPhone 16e contributed 6% and 5% of shipments, respectively.

Prabhu Ram, Vice President of Industry Research Group at CMR, noted that the April-June quarter is typically slower for Apple before the launch of its next-generation iPhone lineup. This year, Apple faced challenges from memory supply constraints, impacting overall shipments. The iPhone 15 series remained relevant, accounting for 4% of total shipments.

During the quarter, Apple’s iPad business faced challenges amidst a broader slowdown in the tablet market. The iPad 11 series led the company’s tablet portfolio with a 55% share of iPad shipments, while the iPad Air 2026 series followed at 38%. The iPad Pro 2025 series and iPad Air 2025 series accounted for 4% and 2% of shipments, respectively.

Looking forward, CMR anticipates Apple to regain momentum during the festive season, supported by the launch of its first foldable iPhone. Despite potential supply constraints in the short term, Apple is positioned for growth and to strengthen its presence in the Indian market. CMR estimates that by the end of 2026, Apple is likely to capture around 12% of India’s smartphone market and about 30% of the tablet market.
