Artificial intelligence was a focal point at the India-AI Impact Summit 2026, with leaders discussing its effects on jobs, education, and governance. Shiv Sena-UBT MP Priyanka Chaturvedi highlighted the need for reskilling to address concerns about job losses due to AI, emphasizing the potential for new employment opportunities. She stressed the importance of adapting to AI, mitigating risks, and leveraging the technology for societal benefit.
Chaturvedi also pointed out the increasing role of AI in daily life, underscoring the necessity of human adaptation and responsible governance in shaping the future. BJP leader Amar Patnaik praised AI’s transformative impact on education, especially in customizing learning experiences for students. He commended the government’s efforts in utilizing AI to propel India towards global leadership and setting high standards in the field.
Meanwhile, BJP spokesperson Gaurav Vallabh defended the scale of the summit against Opposition criticism, highlighting India’s ambition to lead in AI. He noted the event’s extensive program, featuring numerous sessions, speakers, startups, and indigenous AI models. Vallabh emphasized that the summit reflects India’s vision for self-reliance and development by 2047, aiming to position the country as a global AI leader.
The India-AI Impact Summit 2026 has convened policymakers, industry leaders, researchers, and innovators to explore AI’s implications across various sectors, including employment, education, governance, and economic development.
