Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu highlighted that the state does not harbor any indigenous insurgency, stressing the government’s duty to tackle security and administrative issues independently. Speaking at a police conference, he urged self-sufficiency in resolving state matters without relying solely on the central government.
Khandu praised the Arunachal Pradesh Police for thwarting attempts to revive insurgency by the United Tani Army (UTA). He called for bolstering the Special Task Force, enhancing training, manpower, and coordination with central armed forces to maintain peace along the international borders.
The Chief Minister underscored the importance of internal security, technology-driven policing, and efficient criminal justice delivery. He emphasized the need for a balanced approach between development and law enforcement for overall progress in the state.
Khandu also advocated for leveraging technology in policing, particularly in cyber capabilities and digital forensics. He suggested enhancing official social media platforms for better public engagement and transparency in police operations.
Acknowledging the state’s diverse tribal landscape, Khandu urged officers to engage with local communities effectively. He emphasized the significance of inclusive governance through dialogue and understanding of regional sensitivities for sustainable development.
