Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lieutenant General K.T. Parnaik (Retd.) expressed gratitude to the Centre, especially Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for their support in driving the state’s progress. He highlighted the Prime Minister’s recent visit to Itanagar, where over Rs 5,100 crore worth of development projects were inaugurated, showcasing the Centre’s commitment to Arunachal Pradesh’s growth.
Governor Parnaik emphasized the significance of the state’s share of Central taxes exceeding Rs 1 lakh crore since 2014, underscoring the strong partnership between the Centre and the state in fostering a prosperous and inclusive future. He also mentioned the launch of the GST Bachat Utsav as a move towards transparent governance and a conducive business environment.
The Governor outlined the state government’s vision for a developed Arunachal Pradesh, focusing on empowering youth, promoting women’s leadership, ensuring community development, and preserving cultural heritage alongside modern growth. He highlighted the ‘Panch Pratigyas’ or five commitments by the state government, aimed at achieving a developed Arunachal and a developed India by 2047.
Governor Parnaik stressed the importance of sustainable development, including empowering communities, supporting artisans and farmers, promoting green energy, sustainable tourism, and a vibrant cultural economy. He emphasized the need for good governance, public safety, and strong institutional capacity to build a resilient and forward-looking Arunachal Pradesh.
