Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt. General K.T. Parnaik (Retd) highlighted the crucial role of effective urban governance in enhancing citizens’ quality of life. He stressed the significance of cleanliness, orderliness, and aesthetic improvement within areas under the Municipal Corporation. Well-maintained public spaces were noted as indicators of civic pride and responsible administration by the Governor.
During a meeting with Itanagar Municipal Corporation Corporator Gora Lotak, various issues were discussed. Lotak sought the Governor’s guidance for the comprehensive development of his ward, focusing on cleanliness, waste disposal, hygiene, and sanitation challenges. Lt. General Parnaik (Retd) encouraged Lotak to prioritize public service and work diligently for the welfare of his ward residents.
Governor Parnaik emphasized the need for high standards of cleanliness, planning, and civic discipline in the area surrounding Lok Bhavan. He urged all Corporators to engage in avenue plantation drives in collaboration with the Department of Environment and Forests to enhance the city’s beauty and promote environmental sustainability. The Governor also advised Corporators to act as social facilitators, fostering community involvement in cleanliness and development initiatives.
Extending warm wishes to the people of Arunachal Pradesh, Governor Parnaik celebrated the Sarok Festival with the Hrusso community of East Kameng district. He highlighted the cultural significance of festivals in preserving human heritage and fostering unity. The Governor expressed hope that the Sarok Festival would bring happiness, harmony, and strengthen the cultural diversity of the state.
