Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the completion of all planned flyovers in Guwahati city with the inauguration of the Cycle Factory Road flyover. This initiative aims to alleviate traffic congestion and enhance connectivity for commuters. The newly opened flyover is named after Bharatiya Jana Sangh founder Syama Prasad Mookerjee.
The Chief Minister highlighted the challenges posed by urbanization and increasing vehicular traffic in Guwahati. He emphasized that the flyover network’s completion signifies a significant milestone in the state government’s efforts to enhance urban infrastructure in the city. These strategic flyovers at key traffic intersections are designed to enhance mobility and reduce travel time for daily commuters.
Chief Minister Sarma expressed confidence that these infrastructure enhancements would enhance traffic discipline and convenience for residents.
